She has acted as counsel to Philippine and multinational clients from diverse industries, providing advice on banking, tax, corporate, intellectual property, insolvency, contracts, environmental, employment/labor, foreign investment, real estate, data privacy, and regulatory and compliance issues. Atty. Cordero-Batac also has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating various agreements such as licensing and franchising, joint venture and partnership, outsourcing, toll manufacturing, distribution, logistics, sales and marketing, advertising, real estate and equipment purchases and leases, and supply contracts.

- As a member of the Milbank LLP’s Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance Group team in New York, participated in the negotiations and drafting of credit, security and related financing documents and conducted due diligence for the project financing of hydropower plants, fertilizer plant, oil refinery and steel plant located in the US, Mexico, Argentina and the Philippines.
- Served as legal counsel to both the government and the private parties in various biddings and projects of the Philippine government, such as leading the legal teams that advised Philippine government agencies in the public biddings for the privatization of government assets engaged in renewable energy and banking, serving as local counsel to international bidders in the privatization of power generation assets and the water and sewerage system of the Philippine government, and representing bidders in build-operate-transfer projects (the precursor to the public-private partnership program) of the Philippine government in railroad, power plants and information technology projects, as well as in the selections process for a new major player in the Philippine telecommunications sector.
- Provided advice on legal and structuring issues, prepared agreements and negotiated on behalf of clients on joint ventures in the renewable energy, retail, information technology, mining, business process outsourcing and real estate development businesses.
- Advised on, negotiated on behalf of, and prepared documents for, foreign and local financial institutions and syndicates of bank creditors as well as corporate borrowers in various financing transactions, such as project financing of Philippine projects such as thermal power plants, petrochemical plant, healthcare complex, and real estate developments, corporate debt, export credit agency, debt restructuring and lease financing transactions.
- Headed teams in M&A transactions via asset and/or share acquisitions and divestments by Philippine and foreign stakeholders including multinational conglomerates, private equity funds, VCs, international investment companies, institutional investors and family offices/holding companies, in banks and other financial institutions, insurance, oil & gas, conventional and renewable energy, healthcare, pharmaceutical, automotive, consumer appliance, food & beverage, technology, mining, retail companies, as stand-alone transactions in the Philippines or as part of global or regional transactions.
