Characterized by his steady composure, focus, and prime ability to dissect even the most complex legal issues, Julo effortlessly works on the matters assigned to him with infectious vigor and positivity. Strengthened by his video game flair, his approach to every case he handles is methodical and he ensures that every legal problem is tackled with a holistic appreciation of the circumstances.
Prior to joining the firm, Julo served as a Court Attorney in the offices of Honorable Justice Andres B. Reyes, Jr. and Honorable Justice Priscilla Baltazar-Padilla of the Supreme Court of the Philippines. He has assisted in the disposition of a diverse array of cases and has also helped preside over a number of committees in the High Tribunal. His time spent among the “Gods of Padre Faura” allows him to view every argument through the lenses of impartiality, candor, and justice.
Julo’s practice primarily focuses on labor, criminal, and civil litigation. He is also involved in the Firm’s special project files and offers general legal advice to clients from a wide variety of industries. His experience with the judiciary allows him to swiftly assist the Firm with internal rules and court processes.
Truth be told, no one is more equipped in tackling every legal circumstance than a person like Julo who has experienced being in both the bench and the bar sides of a courtroom. Pair this with his passion to champion the interests of his clients and the result is a legal counsel who is acclimated not only as an advocate, but as an adjudicator as well.

Q&A
We hear that you are a man of many interests: you enjoy photo and video editing, you love creating cocktails, and you are a self-professed computer geek. How did these hobbies all come together?
I believe that a person’s interests reflect the genuine part of an individual. In my case, I have always been a creative-at-heart. I enjoy creating things and memories. It started with putting together computers, then splicing together short videos, and finally learning how to mix drinks. Creating something from nothing has always resonated with me for some reason. I think my appreciation for it stems from the belief that the best moments are crafted and not bought.
Your legal career began in the Judiciary. Is there a reason you decided to enter private practice?
I have always been an advocate at heart. While I enjoyed my time adjudicating, I have always felt a calling to represent people in need. I am a very passionate individual and I empathize with the needs of those around me. I just felt that representing clients was truer to who I was as a person. So, when Tolosa Javier Lim & Chua offered me the opportunity to do just that, I knew I had to take it.
You belong to a family of lawyers. Have they influenced the choices you have made in your legal career?
Of course. My father, mother, and older brother are all lawyers. I’d be lying if I said that they have not influenced me in any way. Funnily though, they have never pressured me into doing anything. It was more of me being inspired by their practice which convinced me to follow in their footsteps. In any case, it is nice to sit down and have dinner with loved ones who understand the challenges in our profession. It just makes for an amazing support system.
